No, not in this case. 
 
The source language files (English) are written in FM8.02, saved as MIF8, 
translated into 21 languages (using several different translation tools and 
workflows), and then opened in FM8.02. It is when opening the files in FM that 
some glyphs are missing (that are present in the MIF files).
 
We have checked some of the glyphs that are missing, and they are within the 
Unicode range that FM8 supports.

Mats,
Are the files, by any chance FM files from a pre 7 version?
If so, the missing glyphs may be non-Unicode characters that aren't
being converted in the new Unicode world.
