I have seen this happen when there are two anchored frames at the same location, adjacent to each other. The problem is that the anchor for Fig 2 is physically before the anchor for Fig 1. Move the anchors so that they are in the correct logical order. If using unstructured, put a character or work or space between them. What we have done is create a new element (working with structured frame) with a 1pt space and wrap the second anchor in this element.
I would be will to bet, if I were a betting person, that the figures also appear out of order in your cross-reference list. The above will fix both issues. --- On Thu, 6/23/11, Stuart Rogers <srog...@phoenix-geophysics.com> wrote: From: Stuart Rogers <srog...@phoenix-geophysics.com> Subject: Re: FW: LOF order is Figure 3-2, Figure 3-1, Figure 3-3, Figure 3-4... Any ideas? > How are figures and their captions inserted in the document? It sounds like your first figure and its caption may be in a body text frame separate from the main body frame, rather than in an anchored frame within the main body frame. When FM numbers paragraphs or gathers the content for a generated file, it starts at the top of the main text frame on a page and continues through any additional frames. So if your first figure is in its own text frame, it may be the "second" body frame on the page, even though it *appears* to be first because it's physically closer to the top of the page. You can do a test: see what happens if you put your cursor at the end of chapter 2, and press the Down arrow repeatedly. Does the cursor run through the text and figures/captions of chapter 3 in the order you expect? If you want to send a copy of the first few pages of the file up to the offending figure, I'll have a look at it for you. sr -- Stuart Rogers Technical Communicator Phoenix Geophysics Limited 3781 Victoria Park Avenue, Unit 3 Toronto, ON, Canada M1W 3K5 +1 (416) 491-7340 x 325 http://www.phoenix-geophysics.com _______________________________________________ You are currently subscribed to framers as dspre...@yahoo.com.
