Lin,

I had a chance to spot check online Help in keyboard shortcuts for FM12, and
they all appear to be there.

Check this help page:

I have tried over 20 ESC shortcuts in my use of the product and they all worked.

Hey, Max, do the Esc shortcuts still work? Sometime around FM9, some of them
(some of the table cursor movement ones) stopped working. I wish that could be
fixed, too, and expanded to add the new features and commands. They're VERY
useful for fast access to a lot of the submenus.

David,

Those commands should work. You might also try the shortcuts Control-M for para
designer and Control-D for character designer. Check to see which workspace you
are using.

Make sure that you did not use Edit->Preferences and change your user interface
to "FrameMaker XML Editor" ... which does make those menus go away.

Subject: Can't get to either the Paragraph Designer or Character Designer

I was humming along very nicely with one of those tutorials until I hit a major
snag. I was supposd to do something with the paragraph designer, and neither
the tutorial nor the FM 12 User Guide was very clear on how to get to it. I
searched on my own, and found the menu option Format -> Paragraph -> Designer,
which looked like what I should select. So I selected it and -- nothing
happened. At least, nothing appeared that I could recognize as the Paragraph
Designer. The same thing happened with the character designer. So either I'm
making some kind of error or something's wrong with my copy of FM. I hope it's
my error and you can tell me how to correct it.
