Fred, I am also running Frame 8 on Win 7 (but unstructured). I have not had your cross-reference crashing problem, but I did have issues when I first moved to my new computer--I did have crashing issues, but I don't know that there was any consistent cause. Once I got myself fully patched, though, it's been (mostly) fine. So that would be my only suggestion. (I was re-installing Frame 8 from CD (DVD? don't remember) so there had been a few patches after that initial release.) I'm at Version 8.0p277 -Lise
