It's possible, but not advisable. The trouble is that Word does not permit scaling of such graphics in RTF; for the graphic to appear at the correct size, it must be in an embedded WMF in the RTF. That said, if you simply make sure that Mif2Go cannot find (or generate) the referenced graphic in WMF or BMP form, it will be unable to embed, and you will get a reference instead.
