Having recently upgraded on the XP PC from Adobe FrameMaker 7 and Acrobat Pro 7 to FM8.0p266 and Acrobat Pro 8.1.1 and Adobe Reader 8.1.1, we can't get our distilled hypertext buttons to function anymore. Our Kouroo project is dead in the water!
We've tried "View Generated PDF in Acrobat," and we've tried "Generate PDF Bookmarks," and we've tried "Generate Tagged PDF," and "Create Named Destinations for All Paragraphs," etc. The routine, which worked fine in FM7 in distilling Acrobat7 docs, but doesn't seem to be functioning for us in version 8, has been while distilling to "Embed All Page Thumbnails," and to "Manage Embedded Index," and to "Automatically generate web links on All pages," and to add a document description under "Properties," and to "Reduce File Size," and then to "Enable for Commenting and Analysis in Adobe Reader." However, now, whenever one punches a hypertext button on a web page that we have generated, the error message we always get is "There was an error while performing an action. Attempt to call a method that has not been implemented." These are hypertext buttons that work fine on the PC, in connecting one FrameMaker8 document to another FrameMaker8 document -- but in between two distilled Acrobat8 documents on the web, none of them work at all. An example of this would be the interplay between http://www.kouroo.info/kouroo/thumbnails/G/TheGrimkeSisters.pdf and http://www.kouroo.info/kouroo/thumbnails/W/TheodoreWeld.pdf Please somebody -- tell me that you do this successfully, that it does still work in 8??? Reassurance would help a lot at this point.
