Ben, If you change the directory name you have changed the relative path to the graphics.
The path must stay the same, relative to the source files. One solution would be to store the graphics in the same tree as the source files, i.e., BookFolder --|SourceFiles --|Graphics Then when the source files look for the graphics, they are at the same relative level but in a different folder. When you archive, change the date of the BookFolder, not the SourceFile or Graphics folders. -----Original Message----- From: framers-boun...@lists.frameusers.com [mailto:framers-bounces at lists.frameusers.com] On Behalf Of Ben Hechter Sent: Wednesday, January 28, 2009 10:54 AM To: framers at lists.frameusers.com Subject: wrestling with referenced graphics pointers Hi, Wondering if folks have thoughts on how adding the date to a document directory name each time a draft is archived could impact the pathname of the referenced graphics. Seems like I've had some cases where the referenced graphics pointers get lost because the folder name has changed, and other cases where the referenced graphics pointers remain accurate, or am I imagining this? For project reasons, the archived copy needs to open without errors, so re-homing the graphics directory after the fact is not an option. Thanks for any wisdom from the collective guru!
