I don't see anything insulting in Fred Ridder's reply, and I also don't think Fred claimed that "his way is the only way to accomplish the task". But, Fred's way is usually the best way, just check the hundreds of valuable contributions that Fred has made to this list.
By the way, the insults are in your reply, Dimi, so you should apologize to Fred instead of he to you.
