Are they running Windows XP? There was a Microsoft bug that caused dropped characters in PDFs. Microsoft issued a hotfix. In Windows XP days, most of us installed and recommended it. Information can be found here: http://blogs.adobe.com/techcomm/2008/07/hotfix_for_framemaker_1.html Mike Wickham
