In case no one else has mentioned it, you can also use DITA2Go as an alternative to the DITA-OT (or Flare or RoboHelp). It's free, and it's highly configurable. The learning curve is not as steep as for the DITA-OT, especially for those familiar with its sister product Mif2Go, and the documentation, for those who want to learn, is much more extensive.
