Ok, I have been following this thread and I want to understand something:

I did NOT go to File > Utilities > Character Palette after starting FM10,
but in my Task Manager, it does show CharacterMap.exe (FM 10, Win7, 64 bit).

Are you saying that this is the expected behavior?

Thanks,

TVB

Windows 7 Enterprise, 64-bit here.

Lin, if you feel like experimenting a bit and have FM 10 running, open
Character Palette. In Task Manager, verify that CharacterMap.exe is in the
list of running processes. Then close FM 10 and reopen it. See if
CharacterMap.exe starts up when FM 10 does.
