An Element paragraph format won't get applied to an element that is
specified as a Text range. You have to apply character formatting to a text
range.

Subject: [Framers] EDD Formatting not Applied

Hi All,

If you're following my structured application development, you're not
surprised I'm back so soon.

I wanted to automatically format the XML text in my Frame application. I
changed the EDD as follows:

Structured Application: SCPI
Automatically create formats on import.
Element (Container): Reference
Valid as the highest-level element.
General rule: <ANY>
Element (Container): Title
General rule: <TEXT>
Text format rules
Element paragraph format: Title
In all contexts.
Text range.

Saved DTD and opened my xml file - without seeing any formatting applied.
The para formats are available, just not being applied. I tried about a
dozen different element combinations that were available.

I was reading this reference, particularly step 6:

https://tecfa.unige.ch/guides/xml/frame-sgml/edd-formatting.pdf

Formatting with FrameMaker + SGML's EDD -

df>
tecfa.unige.ch
Formatting with FrameMaker + SGML's EDD Step 3:Identify the elements that
need formatting 3 tags) Alternativly you can work with the Structure View
Window.
