Hi Steve, Thanks for the congratulations!
In fairness to Adobe, there are some benefits to their approach. The Publish pod lets you produce multiple outputs with a single command and a single settings file, which is useful if your workflow requires this. And, conceptually, PDF is just another output format so it makes sense to put in the Publish pod with the others. If you are just producing PDFs and doing it fairly often, the new workflow can be a bottleneck. But I do enjoy the convenience of just double-clicking on the PDF icon in the Publish pod and not seeing the Save As PDF dialog box every time. The biggest issue for me is finding the PDF after it is created, and thus my script. My motives aren't purely altruistic; I make a living scripting around people's FrameMaker problems. And scripting is just plain fun. It's kinda funny that you've felt the need to write a script that codes round a bit of Adobe GUI nonsense. I thought it was only Word that made people think 'Why did it do *that*? ;-) Have a great year, and a long and happy life. -- Steve _______________________________________________ This message is from the Framers mailing list Send messages to framers@lists.frameusers.com Visit the list's homepage at http://www.frameusers.com Archives located at http://www.mail-archive.com/framers%40lists.frameusers.com/ Subscribe and unsubscribe at http://lists.frameusers.com/listinfo.cgi/framers-frameusers.com Send administrative questions to listad...@frameusers.com _______________________________________________ This message is from the Framers mailing list Send messages to framers@lists.frameusers.com Visit the list's homepage at http://www.frameusers.com Archives located at http://www.mail-archive.com/framers%40lists.frameusers.com/ Subscribe and unsubscribe at http://lists.frameusers.com/listinfo.cgi/framers-frameusers.com Send administrative questions to listad...@frameusers.com
