I thought I remembered about this. The same rumour came up in June, and this was the information given then by Amitoj Singh:
As of July 1st, 2019, the Software Assurance (ASA) and Maintenance & Support (M&S) programs were discontinued, although people who have contracts under those programs will continue to have the same support until their contract end date. However, *customers can still purchase perpetual licenses* under the Transactional Licensing Program (TLP) and Cumulative Licensing Program (CLP) from Adobe and from Adobe authorized resellers. This is a link to the thread I started on the Adobe forums about this issue, with the official answer. https://community.adobe.com/t5/FrameMaker/Perpetual-Licenses-for-FrameMaker-and-TCS/m-p/10494707#M61467 He also provided an email address for those with further questions: techc...@adobe.com I haven't heard that these programs are going away, but I'm perfectly willing to ask. :) On Tue, Oct 22, 2019 at 3:47 PM Harding, Dan <dhard...@illinois.edu> wrote: > If this is indeed the case (it would be nice to get something definitive > from Adobe directly, not just second-hand interpretations that are all over > the map), then I think a lot of users will be stand pat on FM2019 for a > considerable period of time, at least until it is no longer compatible with > Windows 14, or whatever version breaks it. > > -Dan > > -----Original Message----- > From: Framers <framers-bounces+dharding=illinois....@lists.frameusers.com> > On Behalf Of Richard Melanson > Sent: Tuesday, October 22, 2019 2:43 PM > To: An email list for people using Adobe FrameMaker software. < > framers@lists.frameusers.com> > Subject: Re: [Framers] What is going on with Adobe Licensing for > FrameMaker? > > Either or both of these happening "stinks" shame on Adobe. > > Adobe is discontinuing support for any type of upgrade for perpetual > licenses. > Adobe will be switching OFF perpetual licenses [both for new & renewal] > WORLDWIDE. > > > > Richard Melanson > Technical Writer|HighRes Biosolutions > T:781.932.1912x1160|rmelan...@highresbio.com > www.highresbio.com??? > > This e-mail message may contain confidential information and may not be > used by anyone but the intended recipient.
