Hmmm ... apparently because Microsoft wants to "add better security". Thus the need for the TPM (available in Intel cpu's from the past ten+ years).
The other requirements of speed, ram, disk space, etc., don't see _that_ steep to me. Our IT guy says that everything we have (nearly 300 Windows systems - some are 8+ years old) meets the new requirements _if_ we chose to upgrade them to Windows 11. Even my older Mac (also running Parallels for Windows 10) from 2012 will work - Parallels says that the TPM requirement will be met with a virtual implementation, since the Mac does not provide access to the TPM - they have their own security chip. FWIW, Windows 10 will be supported through 2025, so no absolute "have to upgrade" the OS for a while. Interesting that Windows 11 has such steep CPU requirements. That's not something I look for in an operating system. _______________________________________________ This message is from the Framers mailing list Send messages to framers@lists.frameusers.com Visit the list's homepage at http://www.frameusers.com Archives located at http://www.mail-archive.com/framers%40lists.frameusers.com/ Subscribe and unsubscribe at http://lists.frameusers.com/listinfo.cgi/framers-frameusers.com Send administrative questions to listad...@frameusers.com _______________________________________________ This message is from the Framers mailing list Send messages to framers@lists.frameusers.com Visit the list's homepage at http://www.frameusers.com Archives located at http://www.mail-archive.com/framers%40lists.frameusers.com/ Subscribe and unsubscribe at http://lists.frameusers.com/listinfo.cgi/framers-frameusers.com Send administrative questions to listad...@frameusers.com
