Hi Tammy,

I do not know, why you cannot create the PDF.
Often on the last distilled page (or the previous or following page) there is a
problem like a graphics file.
Can you check this?
Can you distill to a PDF, when you hide all graphics (View | Options)?

You can create a PDF with Distiller with a specific joboptions file.
I do this all the time.
In the Publish pod select PDF and then click on the icon to the right of your
settings file. Click Edit.
FrameMaker opens the Publish Settings of your settings file.
In the General tab you can select a Preset (which is the joboptions file).
At the bottom of this window select "Use Acrobat Distiller ...".
Then FrameMaker will create an internal PostScript file and distill to this to
a PDF
in the same folder as the book file or the FM file.

FrameMaker will use this settings for all PDFs, not only for that of the
current FM file or book.

Best regards

Winfried

Subject: [Framers] Adobe Acrobat Pro XI Distiller issue

Windows 10, 64-bit system. Adobe Framemaker 2019, perpetual license.

Since the cows have come home, I print a FM book to .ps to a watched folder,
and then w/ Acrobat Distiller open and set to the correct joboptions file, I
distill the .ps to a PDF. It has worked like a charm all the way through
yesterday when boom - now the book is distilled to about 93% w/out errors and
then Acrobat Distiller just closes. NO error message, nada, zip, zilch.

I have changed ABSOLUTELY nothing on my system, taken no updates, etc.

I have absolutely NO idea why/how this got started, but I am in desperate need
of getting this figured out because I have a specific joptions file that I must
use for each client book (fonts that must be embedded in the
PDF) and with using the Save As PDF option in FM, how on earth do I apply the
right joboptions?

Any and all help is sincerely appreciated.

Regards,

TVB
