What fascinates and frustrates me is how many festivals watch no more than 2-3 seconds before rejecting. Don't they realize their behavior is tracked and we can see how much (and if) they even watched it?
It seems polyannaish to say they are busy and have lots to watch--isn't that the actual job? Who can make any decision about the kinds of media we all make in just 3 seconds? To say its our responsibility to know the festival is disingenuous when festivals do this consistently, and then claim they are serious about what they're doing.
There are so many other things that may or may not deserve to be called bs, but not watching the works??
