Hi folks:

For a while, I've been snatching up film (as in film) stuff I run across
for cheap at thrift stores. My idea has been that I would at some point
pass it on to members of this community, where people still (I think) work
in/with small gauge film. That's come to the foreground since I need to
clear out stuff to make it easier for us old folks to move around the joint.

Anyway, I have a few super-8 projectors now, and I'm loathe to pass them on
without checking them out first. The problem is the only super-8 footage I
have is edited original of my old work, and I'm not willing to run that
through any projector.

So I'm wondering if any y'all have a reel of exposed/processed super-8 you
don't care about you could give me to use for testing. I'd need it to have
a stable image, with the sprocket holes in good shape, but it can be
anything otherwise. 50'-100' feet?? Could be shorter maybe, just needs to
run enough for a decent test...

If you're anywhere near Daly City, CA, I could pick it up, but I can't
imagine it would cost much to drop 50' in the mail. (I can reimburse you.)
My primary activity these days is volunteering handyman stuff and bike
repair at Repair Cafe and Fixit-Clinic, so I be happy to return the footage
favor with something along those lines for anyone local.

Lemme know off-list (or just make sure my email address is also in the
"to:" if responding to the list) if you're willing and able to play good
samaritan.

I hope to be noting what I have for sale here fairly soon, which I want to
do before e.g.listing anything on eBay.

thanks,

Dave Tetzlaff
