Hi Domenic, I wrote to Worm in the autumn of 2024 about performing there after a residency in Amsterdam. That didn't fit their programming at the time–understandable–but I wanted to visit Rotterdam anyway, so at the end of October 2024 I made an appointment with Worm staff, got a tour, and got a handshake agreement to do a two week residency there in Nov 2025. Submitted a proposal that was tied tightly to their unique facilities and was told "be in touch in may/June to set the dates". When I did … nothing.
Ghosted. Getting ghosted is rarely a good thing. When you decline/avoid other opportunities in a three month window because you expect to be on another continent, frankly, it's brutal. Can you, at this stage of your life/career, absorb a three month setback? Worm's been around a long time, is housed in a large facility, has a cafe/bar, a theater/cinema cobbled together from scrapped airplane panels, two dance spaces, offices on a mezzanine, is centrally located … but in my experience they're not to be trusted.
