Most JAN projectors are 3-blade. The 5-bladed ones are noticeable dimmer on a screen.
I _think_ that shutter is for a 500-series or 1500-series B&H. Replacing the shutter is a major pain in the neck. I have replaced the worm gear on a 500-series and it was about an eight-hour job... getting to the shutter is nearly that difficult (and frankly if you're going to put a 5-bladed shutter on a 500-series you might as well change the worm gear while you have the whole mechanism apart). Optech charges about $400 for worm gear replacement... they would probably charge about the same amount if you wanted a new shutter in the process. In fact, they might even have a spare 5-bladed shutter in the junk box somewhere. --scott _______________________________________________ FrameWorks mailing list [email protected] https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks
