This is not really news: Fuji had announced the discontinuation of its cine film stocks last fall. The link you that is being cited here, http://www.fujifilm.com/news/n130402.html, is just the confirmation update that the announcement has come true.
At this point, Velvia is not affected because its not a cine film stock but a photo camera film. (Regardless the fact that 3rd party manufacturers cut it for Super 8.) It is not sure though whether Velvia is still being manufactured or whether Fuji just sells old stock. -F On Fri, Apr 5, 2013 at 12:28 PM, Phaeton Graph <[email protected]>wrote: > So is this the end for Velvia? > > :-| > > ------------------------------ > *From:* Christine Lucy Latimer <[email protected]> > *To:* [email protected] > *Sent:* Thursday, 4 April 2013, 15:20 > *Subject:* [Frameworks] Fuji discontinues production of motion picture > stocks > > http://www.fujifilm.com/news/n130402.html > > Very sad news.
