EMM/EKS lamps are all over ebay quite cheap compared to other AV lamps. As for splices you might try redoing any that are causing problems. Use a good splicer--it is nearly impossible to get the tape and sprocket holes aligned perfectly by hand. With 16mm you can usually get by with splicing tape on the base side only, but others would say it is better to tape both sides. Ed
