Hi Morgan,

i usually use lighter benzin (like the zippo, but cheaper brands) to remove 
sticky stuff. And you can apply it to earbuds to get into some narrow corners. 
If you look into the perforation holes on the base plate of the splicer, you 
will see that a lot of little tape pieces have piled up there. you can open the 
splicer and remove them from below. You can clean the perforation holes with a 
few toothpicks (using wood in orfer to avoid scratches on the metal surface).
