Hi Deborah,

You can use regular household cleaner fantastik to swell the emulsion and
scrape it off with a razor blade.  I made a short film about it many years
ago: How to Make a Phantastik Film https://vimeo.com/24544796 You can also
soak the film in washing soda and achieve similar results, but you get more
of an overall effect than a specific technique.
