You might like to visit the Electron Workshop [1]. Their interests are not specifically in free software, but they're definitely nerdy and some are EFF members. Also Melbourne Blender Society is meeting on the 23rd [2]. Maybe you'd like to come and speak to us about free software and art/media, e.g. MediaGoblin? Or you can just come along to say hi.
