Steps to reproduce:
1. Install FreeBSD 14.3
2. Run freebsd-version -kru
2. Fetch stable/14
3. Do classic buildkernel+buildworld followed by install equivalents
4. Reboot
5. Run freebsd-version -kru
Expected result:
14.3-RELEASE-p2 in the first invocation of freebsd-version.
14.3-STABLE in the latter call to freebsd-version.
Actual result:
The script always return 14.3-RELEASE-p2
