A better answer would be that these files should be repocopied to names consisting only of characters from the POSIX Portable Filename Character Set (basically [A-Za-z0-9._-]): http://www.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/000095399/basedefs/xbd_chap03.html#tag_03_276 These files are a problem not only for Windows users, but also when burning the source tree to a CD or copying it to a FAT-formatted memory stick.
