That's a fair enough comment really. To the average PC user, yes it is going to be the only one to compete with Ubuntu - unsuccessfully.
To the higher life forms - e.g. uber g33ks like us, no. Although when I tried it out, I did quite enjoy the experience of PCBSD. The keywords there is 'desktop distributions'.
