The problem is with the licensing. Those of us who are professional developers and develop commercial software cannot safely inspect GPLed code for legal reasons. This is why I and many other developers favor a completely BSD-licensed solution.

Actually, you do. And they do something even funnier -- they try to put their own stamp on Linux. (Just call it "Linux" in front of Richard Stallman, and you won't hear the end of it. He'll yell, "It's GNU/Linux. Gnooooooooooooooooo-LINUX!")

Which is doubly ironic because every Linux distribution contains bunches of code from BSD. ;-)
