Bug ID: 279610 Summary: www/linux-chrome: wrong description Product: Ports & Packages Version: Latest Hardware: amd64 OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Many People Priority: --- Component: Individual Port(s) Assignee: chrom...@freebsd.org Reporter: ze...@zaclys.net Flags: maintainer-feedback?(chrom...@freebsd.org) Assignee: chrom...@freebsd.org Hi, I've noticed that the ports www/linux-chrome and www/chromium share the same description, basically only the port name changed. It can be confusing, people might not realize which one is the proprietary software. I myself wasn't sure about what the port was about until I looked into the makefile which led me to the google site: https://cgit.freebsd.org/ports/tree/www/linux-chrome/Makefile#n5 https://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/rpm/stable/x86_64/ This is the current description: Chrome is an open-source browser project that aims to build a safer, faster, and more stable way for all users to experience the web. The Chrome website contains design documents, architecture overviews, testing information, and more to help you learn to build and work with the Chrome source code.
