Do you think this is part of the firstboot script for EC2?
I've been running 12.0-RELEASE ec2 instances for a while and have not
noticed this. I spot checked a system that was built way back in May
and didn't see this issue. I'll try to spin up an instance later today
in my env and see if I can reproduce.
