As I keep pointing out - if people want to make FreeBSD work on HPC, please work on making it work. Either wade through the depths yourself, or find a friendly developer who would like to wade through the depths for you.
People are working on their areas of interest (paid, free, otherwise) or non-interest (paid - free would be a bit scary.) I highly doubt the FreeBSD developers would say no to someone popping up and taking ownership of HPC on FreeBSD, then following it up by making it work.
