Something seemed to have gone wrong during the last update cycle of world. 
/bin/svn is
the svn that comes in 11 CURRENT as contribution. That svn worked well on bot 
/usr/src
and /usr/ports, but the port's version didn't.

After "make delete-old" in /usr/src and a complete buildworld/installworld the 
problem
went away.
