Since I have checked out code in the homedir, this should have been:

cd /path/to/dev/git.freebsd.org//contrib/dev/acpica/

> ./acpica_prep.sh /tmp/acpica-unix-20230628.tar.gz

> rsync -aPv acpi_ca_destination/* .
>
> make -C /usr/src buildworld

Same adjustment as above:

make -C /path/to/dev/git.freebsd.org//subdir/contrib/dev/acpica/ buildworld
