In my case(es), if_bridge is statically compiled into the CURRENT kernel. Since 
I have to
(mis)use dyndns v6 services to identify my hosts via MAC portion, first 
bridge-attached device
is the NIC I usually was using for attaching to the network (em0 or igb0, 
depending on the
CURRENT host, I have several ones).
