It looks like our modified FreeBSD GCC breaks the STLport tests, as it breaks OpenOffice too. If one uses a normal unmodified stock gcc version (gcc 2.95.2 or 2.95.3), and compiles it on STABLE or CURRENT, the coredump goes away. Note that there are no special flags, only c++ -pthread -Wall -g -O where specified.
