You have to do, as UPDATING tells you:

        make buildworld
        make buildkernel
        make installkernel
        <reboot in single user>
        mergemaster -p
        make installworld 
        mergemaster

for things to work right.  The Sig 12 are from new system calls in the
newly compiled binaries.  You must reboot a new kernel to cope.
