Hi folks, Can anyone think of a good way to implement an installworld / installkernel seat-belt for source upgrades from stable to current?
What I'm looking for is a way for installworld and installkernel in the current source to look for some signature in the target filesystem that suggests that a stable world is about to be upgraded to current. I want this because far too many people, far too frequently, update their source to HEAD by mistake and then end up with current when they really wanted stable. [1] If this can be done cleanly, I'd like to do it. If not, I don't want it to be a hack. So, ideas on infallible signatures? Ciao, Sheldon.
