--- Comment #2 from noah.bergba...@tum.de --- Thank you for the kind response. When I hit this bug, I was actually just considering using gvinum and decided against doing so because it was so unstable. Arguably the real bug here is that it hasn't been deprecated long ago. As for the feature set, I still yearn for (an equivalent of) Linux LVM on FreeBSD and gvinum did like it might somewhat satisfy this use case. I ended up emulating the most important feature (logical volumes that can be extended as needed) using a combination of gconcat and a GPT partition table, but what I am still sorely missing is a way to repartition (or at least extend volumes) without unmounting. I actually implemented that two years ago in https://reviews.freebsd.org/D19227 but sadly that stalled. (I'm also not currently subscribed to the mailing list, so I'm not sure how to respond to your post there, sorry) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. _______________________________________________ freebsd-geom@freebsd.org mailing list https://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-geom To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-geom-unsubscr...@freebsd.org"
