    Where are you copy-on-writing to?  Unbacked memory?  No way that
    would ever work, at least not for any reasonably-sized filesystem.
    The copied data has to go somewhere.

    Or are you talking about the copy-on-write softlink business?  That's
    a whole different ball of wax.
