On my testmachine:

atapci0: <VIA 82C686 ATA66 controller> port 0xffa0-0xffaf at device 4.1 on pci0
ata0: at 0x1f0 irq 14 on atapci0
ata1: at 0x170 irq 15 on atapci0
...
ad0: 17206MB <IBM-DJNA-371800> [34960/16/63] at ata0-master UDMA66
ad1: 14664MB <IBM-DJNA-351520> [29795/16/63] at ata1-master tagged UDMA66

If I enable it on ad0, without without enabling it on ad1 it chokes.

ad1 seems to be stable.

Is there any way to read the firmware rev on ATA disks ?
