Hi Eric, Here is the dmesg output of the FreeBSD 6.2 virtual machine that has ghozzy's probe.c patch in place. His patch prevents the kernel from using the XSTORE instruction that VMware Server doesn't support. Let me know if you need any other information. I don't remember if I cc'd the list or not a few days ago when I emailed ghozzy, but his patch fixed the installation problem I was having, and I no longer get the instruction fault panic when the root filesystem is built. I haven't put the new VM through any strenuous testing yet, but I will be over the next few weeks, and I'll update the list if the system crashes again.
