I've seen something like this as well (4-STABLE from 7 July). For me,
this happens in the middle of the day, when I'm at work (this is one of
my home systems). I have a crashdump, but no debugging symbols. :-(
Having just realized this, I'm turning them on for my kernel builds.

My last crashdump has a tombstone that looks like this:

Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode
fault virtual address = 0x3f
fault code = supervisor read, page not present
instruction pointer = 0x8:0xc01fc074
stack pointer = 0x10:0xce06ff60
frame pointer = 0x10:0xce06ff78
code segment = base 0x0, limit 0xfffff, type 0x1b
                        = DPL 0, pres 1, def32 1, gran 1
processor eflags = interrupt enabled, resume, IOPL = 0
current process = 373 (setiathome)
interrupt mask =
trap number = 12
panic: page fault
