If I remember correctly the serial is somehow passed as a parameter to the kernel by the bootloader. Using a FreeBSD specific vendor OUI and a stable MAC based on the hostid is probably best. Now, how can we proceed to get this working? I can try to find a "real Pi" instead of a compute module, serial console access, and an external USB Ethernet based on that chipset.
