Well this is a kind of internal-to-ports thing that needs a

There is no individual who's on the hook for that, exactly.

What happens if you try to add a dependency on archivers/libarchive
and change tar to bsdtar?

Thanks,
I installed archivers/libarchive and added:

.if ${.CURDIR:M/usr/ports/graphics/linux_dri}
TAR=/usr/local/bin/bsdtar
.endif

to /etc/make.conf and I got it to work.

Thanks!
Bill
