Over the last several months I have been splattering the various freebsd mailing lists with questions about using MIT Kerberos instead of Heimdal. My reasons for this are simply, I want MIT Kerberos. But, in all my googling and archive archaeology I have yet to find a clean way to implement this due to FreeBSD's default to Heimdal and it's associated dependencies. I do not upgrade my systems every nanosecond, choosing to stay with what works. I recently did a portmanager -u to get any security fixes and garfed Samba and others due to dependencies on Heimdal. Is there a clean solution to this and if so where can I find it. I want no hand holding, just a clue.
