A couple of days ago i had meeting this error while doing "make index":

Btw, may be it's somehow related...
# pwd
/usr/ports/databases/postgresql-docs
# make deinstall
"Makefile", line 53: Could not find
/usr/ports/databases/postgresql-docs/../postgresql-server/Makefile
make: fatal errors encountered -- cannot continue
I mean that ports depends on PGSQL_VER will fail if 8.3beta1 is installed..
