Hello,
Just so it won't be forgotten - the annoying bug in the latest version
(2.4.6*) of portupgrade is still there:

r...@kg-v2# portupgrade -R xterm xscreensaver smartmontools
[Gathering depends for x11/xterm
................................................................................................
done]
[Exclude up-to-date packages .................................. done]
/usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/pkginfo.rb:74:in `initialize': : Not
in due form: <name>-<version> (ArgumentError)
        from /usr/local/sbin/portupgrade:614:in `new'
        from /usr/local/sbin/portupgrade:614:in `main'
        from /usr/local/sbin/portupgrade:613:in `each'
        from /usr/local/sbin/portupgrade:613:in `main'
        from /usr/local/sbin/portupgrade:588:in `catch'
        from /usr/local/sbin/portupgrade:588:in `main'
        from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/optparse.rb:1303:in `call'
        from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/optparse.rb:1303:in `parse_in_order'
         ... 7 levels...
        from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/optparse.rb:785:in `initialize'
        from /usr/local/sbin/portupgrade:229:in `new'
        from /usr/local/sbin/portupgrade:229:in `main'
        from /usr/local/sbin/portupgrade:2208

And the workaround is still to downgrade to version 2.4.3:

r...@kg-v2# portupgrade -f portupgrade
--->  Downgrading 'portupgrade-2.4.6,2' to 'portupgrade-2.4.3_2,2'
(ports-mgmt/portupgrade)
--->  Building '/usr/ports/ports-mgmt/portupgrade'
[......]
===>   Registering installation for portupgrade-2.4.3_2,2
===>  Cleaning for portupgrade-2.4.3_2,2
---> Cleaning out obsolete shared libraries
[Updating the pkgdb <format:bdb_btree> in /var/db/pkg ... - 536
packages found (-0 +1) . done]
r...@kg-v2#

after that, portupgrade works again.

Continued happy holidays to all!
