Just an FYI.  I'm experiencing the same issue.  I'm running FreeBSD 7.1, an
Nvidia 8400 GS, and fluxbox.

At first I suspected the video driver.  I've tried nv and nvidia, neither made
a difference.  There was an error in the xorg logs for fbdev which I did not
have installed at the time.  Compiling it did not solve the issue either.

I am supposed to have hardware on it's way that will allow me to look at
this.

This is known, it is related to the switch to pciaccess, and AFAIK the
issue is currently the same with linux. I don't know the specific
reason that secondary boards don't work at the moment. I hopefully will
have most of the stuff that I need to try and at least test this soon.
Meanwhile, I'll poke around and see if anyone is looking into it.
