The configure script needs some direction.

In security/barnyard/Makefile, try:

CONFIGURE_ARGS+= --enable-mysql \
                 --with-mysql-includes=${LOCALBASE}/include/mysql \
                 --with-mysql-libraries=${LOCALBASE}/lib/mysql
